Ok, I am getting close to being done with the body work! A couple more days and it should all be finished and in final primer. Heres some pics for you Chris.

Wynne, you had asked about how the 3rd brake light installs. Heres how this one goes in.

The lens epoxies to the cab. Then studs needed to be welded in for the box that houses the LED's to bolt to the cab.

The the body work needs to be finished, primed and blocked BEFORE the lens gets permantly attached. When that is done, the lens can be epoxied in, then blocked down to be flush with the metal, BUT not all the way. I will show you why in couple days.

Chris, I also have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that I found more rust under the primer on the roof. The good news is I already took care of it for you.

:2thumbs Yesssssssss ! That looks Great ! How hard was the lens to sand down? How much surface rust did you find under the epoxy? Was it all over or just in certain areas ?

:D Its not sanded down yet, its just pulled back to check and make sure it was going to sit flush with the body work. I have to shoot some high build on it tomorrow and block it still, thats just the filler work and epoxy sealed. One block should slick it out and then I will make it a permanent part of the truck this weekend and weld the peice I cutout inside back in.

About the rust, remember when I checked around the outside edges while you were at the shop one day. Those were the only two spots that didnt have any surface rust on it! :D. I found it the other day when I was stripping some away from the cab seam so I could epoxy the bodywork area around the lens. It was mostly in the middle that was the worst. No worries, its taken care of now.

Before leaving for CTC, i picked up my seat at the Fed Ex terminal. Tea's Seats in MN did a killer job on it. I knew it would be sweet, but i was still blown away when i unpacked it ! I'm stoked ! Here it is covered in black ultra leather. :)

Thanks, guys !

Keith, to answer your question, the front wheels are 18x8 w/ 5.5" BS with 26X10X18 Sportsman s/r's Rears are 20x12" w/ 4" BS with 29x15x20 S/R's>. If i can sell the rear tires, i'd like to step up the height to a 31" tall. The height on these Mickey Thompsons are a little shorter than what they claim to be!

No doubt about how good it all looks! Chris, the seat looks even more awesome seeing it here at home. What a great looking seat, can't wait to see it in the truck, with the truck completed!

Update.

Chris came out today with a few things that needed to be added to his truck.

Chris is replacing the factory A/C with a Vintage Air unit. The controls that he is using are way smaller than the factory opening. He made this nice plate to block off the factory a/c opening.

Image

He also bought the mock up of the unit he is using and we installed all the brackets and studs that needed to be there so it fits just right.

Heres Chris gettin it done! :2thumbs

Close up of the mounting points.

Finished installation.

We didnt forget you Eric!

Last thing we did today was to check the fit of the factory grille and both Tri-Plus fenders. OUTSTANDING FIT! All that will be needed is a tiny bit of hammer and dolly work, NO cutting or welding is needed, it looks great!
