Postby Chevy_Man on Fri Sep 14, 2007 12:10 am

Hey guys i guess i will be the first to post in here.....lol Well here is the question what all is involved in changing out a complete plastic dash in a 94 chevy truck? I have one that i am working on in the shop and the guy asked if the dash could be changed and i told him i would look at it.....What would one charge to do something like that... If i do this job i will post pics and issues as i do the job just wanted to see if anyone else had completed a task like this...

I've done it, but it was years ago, so I don't remember much about it. A job like that can look intimidating, but it's really not that bad. It will take some time though. Just mark everything as it comes apart and you'll be fine. Most of the electrical connectins will only plug into one spot, but you should probably mark them with a marker and some masking tape anyway. I tried to look up a time estimate on my alldata but it didn't cover the dash for some reason. It did say 4.6 hours to replace the evaporator core though, which includes removing the dash. I just finished doing it to the solara, and I've got the dash out of a '03 crown vic at work now. They get easier once you see how they go together. :D
