Well guys here is my project......its been shoved to the side many many times.....and been sitting around sence 2005....I got the Truck in Jan. of 05 and was just going to put a 350/350 tranny some small work and now its in many many parts that are here and there.....I even have the frame in many parts tooo.....lol . History on the truck.... well i had a 68 camaro that i was working on and had no shop at the time so i was doing the car porch thing.... i started to strip the car down after i got all the running gear right and found that the car was in real real bad shape and i think the whole car was body filler.....so i lost interest in it because i would have to replace lots of sheet metal and had no shop to do this in .......so i just cleaned the car up some and put a good coat of high build primer on that thing and drove it like that tring to sell and i run accross the 68 that a guy had just got from a man in the next town which was the orignal owner of the truck.... so me and the guy started and after looking at the truck i knew the truck and who owned it . The guy wanted my camaro badly ....so we struck a deal, i traded my camaro for the truck....minus the motor and tranny out of the car...so he brought me the truck with new wheels and tires on the thing and it was running and he loaded my car up and a week later he called for me to come pickup my motor and tranny and it was a done deal.....The truck still had orignal paint on it and ran ok.... so i was going to put my motor and tranny out of my camaro in it and drive it stuff i could do under the car porch.....well one thing lead to another and it went from there......Then Rita came along and helped me get my shop so that is where the old truck is sitting at right now getting worked on here and there......Ill post some pics of when i got this thing......

Cool story Eric, I'm glad you finally got a build thread going. I can't see the last 3 pics though, just red X's??? Do you still have plans to put the Camaro engine/trans in it?

Well the story carries on...... after getting the shop up and all powered up that is where the old truck sat for some time just being looked at from time to time . Thinking that i need to work on that thing its not going to get done just sitting there in the corner. But never failed it just got a good looking over and moved around the shop, but i was collecting parts from time to time....here is a few pics of its better life with a roof over its head.

Now for the issue problems, well i knew the truck was in good shape because the cab corners had never been changed and they still don't need to be changed......the rockers had some pin holes and dents in them, the floor boards had some bad spots right at the bottom of the kick panels like they all have, but they was very small...The major problem with this truck was the vent boxes....The orignal owner took real good care of the truck but he never cleaned out the vent boxes....my guess is that he never opend them they was frozen shut.....The truck would sit under trees from time to time and the vent box was full of trash and decay....Here is some pics of the problem and afteri cut some of it out.....

Now came the time for me to decide what to do about it....well i asked a few buddies that has trucks like this on what to do and it helped me deside what i needed to do.....At this time i had to deside what i was going to do with the truck go back all like it was ....as in heat and vent boxes and later factory ac ......alot of thinking went into this and desided to go a little custom...Shave the fire wall and shave the vent boxes......so that means i would have to go after market air and heat.....but would give me a clean fire wall.....so i had to cut extra holes to get too the vent box rust......here is some pics at this stage...
