Listen to this... Brandi tells me that I should go ahead and get the 180 because it's "only" $140 more, and if I get the 140 she think's I'll wish that I had gotten the 180 and end up having to buy another one later on down the road. I love my wife!

:2thumbs Keep her at all cost Steven!

I would go with the best one you can get the first time. I am going to have to buy another one when I start the chassis for the 49 because I DIDNT buy the biggest one I could get. The one I have works great but it wont do everything I will need it to do later down the road.

I just bought a Hobart Handler 210 about 6 monthes ago and so far I'm very pleased with it. One reason i got it is for the ability to plug a spool gun right in and go to welding.

I didn't like their helmets or carts at AirGas, and they wouldn't sell me a tank outright, they only do rentals. So I probably won't be welding anything this weekend, but MAN, I am pumped!

The helmet and everything else is on it's way. Don't you hate waiting for shipping?

I know I'm bringing up an old one, but after enclosing my garage and then getting it wired between trips offshore, I have finally struck an arc with my Miller. All I can say is that with the Autoset on, ANYBODY can weld like a professional. It's been at least 12-13 years since I've welded anything, and I was so excited to try it out that I didn't even clean the edges of the metal, and it still looks like a professional welded it. Needless to say, if anybody is looking for recommendations on a welder, I'd say Miller all the way.

Congrats on the welder, I was wondering how the autoset feature would work. Would love to trade my old mig in on a shiny new blue one.

Thats good to hear Steven, now I just need to round up a trailer to bring some "chassis" stuff over for you to break it in real good! Just kidding you bro!

I like how that is set up and being able to weld up to 5/16 is more than you should ever need, one case where having more power is always better. Ever since you bought this one I have been waiting to hear how you liked it. I bought the smaller lincoln wire feed about 8 years ago and outgrew it 6 months after I bought it. It still works great, but its time to get a better welding rig that I can do more with.

Thanks for the update! :2thumbs

I'm glad to hear that the Miller is doing just what you want it too, Steven. Like Scott, I would love to have a new one, but I'll have to stick with my 'ol Lincoln a while longer!
