Looking for a 700R4

Postby outlawc on Tue Sep 29, 2009 8:00 am

Anyone have or know of where I can buy a good, ready to run 700R4? I have called a few of the trans shops around here and they act like they dont want to do it unless they charge for R&R. Their also high on just the rebuild, I could buy one from Summit and pay shipping cheaper than a rebuild locally.

If anyone has one or know someone close to me that charges a reasonable rebuild fee let me know.

Keith check with Todd. He knows the owner of Twin City Transmission here in Monroe. I believe he told Todd he got $700 for one out the door ready to go. I talked to them about a month ago and they said $350 to $700 to rebuild mine depending on what shape it was in. I don`t know if these prices are in reasonable or not. If you find someone cheaper let me know. I do know that they stand behind their work.

Thanks Jeremy, that is a smokin deal, just so far away.

Thanks Scott, that is what I was thinking it should be. I have gotten one quote for $1800.00 with coverter, another was $1685.00 with converter, both are just rebuilds only, no R&R. Too me, those prices sound way to high for a stock rebuild.

I did find one guy in New Orleans this morning that will do it for $700.00 - $900.00 with converter. As long as there is nothing broken inside, it will be the $700.00. That sounds more reasonable to me.

That's a good price from Twin City. I'll have to check into that if I go that route.
