Alright let me thumb through my pics and try to give you an idea what I've done to my truck since I've had it.
I bought my truck in 2001 in Abbeville, LA.

Great a truck that I didn't need to do anything to it.
I just didn't know what I wanted done to it yet.

First thing - The fuel tank in the cab Has to go.
So I installed a plastic tank under the bed.

I put my marker light on a hinge to make a filler door.

I temporarily made a filler neck from steel pipes.

I found out that using a plastic tank that when you ran the fuel level low it start to deform the tank because of the heat coming off of the exhast pipes.

I wanted to put a hidden hitch on the truck. This helped me out because it provided the heat shield I needed for my exhaust.
This is a standard hitch from Wal-mart but I flipped the receiver upside down so that the receiver would come out behind the license plate.

Next I had to deal with the heated springs that were on the truck.

It was like riding on a pogo stick. Better be strapped in before you ride.
And "OUCH" when the axle would hit the frame.

So here goes the C-notch and rear springs

Cool! I want to add a hidden hitch to mine too, but I'll probably make an old one fit that I already have. What drop do you have?

The Drop on the Truck is 4" in the back and 2 1/2" front spindle in the front.

I had trouble keeping the truck cool. 2 years ago I spent more time watching the cars at Cruise the Coast instead of cruising.

So I changed the radiator

That's the same drop that I have, but my front springs are worn out. Very nice truck, I love the 68's.

Nice. Makes me think about what drop I may want to do on mine in the future.

Now I need to make a better fuel filler neck because I had trouble filling the tank with the steel pipes.

I took the flange off of my cab tank and put on some 2 1/8" exhast pipe for the filler neck.

The spout on the tank was located right at the bed support so I needed to move it.

After thought - Should have went with the steel tank so I could weld the filler neck on.

You would think that a 2 1/8" would fill right. I found the vent line too small, once fuel got in the vent line it didn't flow back to the tank and stopped up the vent. I also put a plate at the cap so the pump will click off when tank is full.

Works right now.

After sinking 4 brass floats. I had to do something.

I either need to stop playing around with my truck or find a different style fuel sender.

So new style fuel sender it is.

I got the tube style fuel sender from Summit. It has a float inside of an aluminum tube.

Right before CTC '09 I put disc brakes with the 2 1/2" dropped spindle on the front. I didn't find any pics for these so I will eventually put them up.

Well that pretty well sums up the major projects that I've done up to date.

What's next?

There is some metallic cancer showing up and my clearcoat is starting to peel. So I will probably start some sheetmetal projects.
