Powder Coating

Postby gsfmech on Tue Oct 30, 2007 7:08 am

Hey, does anyone know where Louisiana you can get powder coating done. I'm throwing around the idea of doing my frame. There was a guy in Natchitoches that bought my orange 71 several years ago that had his core support and stuff done somewhere in Shrevport. I never see this dude anymore. Anyone have any idea where this could be.

Thanks,
Mike

There is a place here in Baton Rouge, but that might be a little far for you. Unless you like to drive.

No, I don't mind the drive but if I could find a place closer of course it would be easier. Any chance you know the name of the place.

Thanks,

Mike

cnshoot,

That is a lot closer, only an hour. I'm offshore down in Trinidad right now and the truck is not even torn all the way down. But I will give you a shout when I get close. I'm thinking they will balst it and coat it right? I wonder how much it would run to do it? It will probably be a while before I'm ready, I'm thinking about march or so the way work is right now. Thanks a lot,

Mike

There is a place in Monroe also Mike. I know that Ernie plans to get his Camaro frame done there, but I'll have to get the info for you because I'm not sure who it is.

Just to give an idea of what it may cost here- My boss just got a quote of $400 to do his 72 4x4 frame, and I think that included blasting it. That was from Powdercoating LLC in west monroe. I've seen their work, and they are pretty good.

I will say that Powdercoating LLC in West Monroe has done a great job on all of the motorcycle parts (probably 50 or more) that I have taken to them. Great service and quick turn-around times. I plan to use tham for my powder coating needs in the future. I have never had any problems with their quality.
