For those of you that don't know already. I put in my 2 weeks notice on Thursday. My new job should give me more time at home, as well as a little more money. Hopefully once I get settled into my new job, I will be able to get this truck finished before year's end. Then... on to the Blazer.

OK thanks, was just curious, had thought about changing from stepside to fleetside

LUV, well I'm giving up 3 weeks of vacation to take the job, so I might not be able to make the meet at Ron's house, but I'll have more weekends off, so hopefully I'll make some of the closer things like Cruisin' the Coast.

Fishingj, no problem. Keep the step, they're cooler.

Thanks Mike! Things are starting to settle down with the job. So as soon as my funds build up a little more, I'll get back on it.

Re: smbrouss70's SWB Truck

This doesn't actually qualify as an update, since I haven't done any work to it, but here goes...

I changed my mind again... surprised?

After going to CTC and wishing I was driving Oscar's truck, I figured I needed to sit down and come up with a finalized plan so I can work in one direction, instead of seven.

Brandi and I talked about our fondest memories of Oscar riding in his truck, and the one that stood out in our minds was when he would stick his head around the cab and let his lips flap in the wind. Every time I would catch a glimpse of it in my mirrors, it would damn near cause me to wreck from laughing so hard. Since he couldn’t reach the edge of the cab after I put the stepside bed on, that meant it needs to go. Besides he rode in the fleetside more than the stepside bed.

Next, we discussed color. Brandi came up with the idea to only use colors that were in his coat. That meant our only choices were White, Grey, Black, and a hint of Brown. We figured that it would need to look regal, yet still scare people from time to time, like he did. To me that only left Black. I’ve always liked the Grey Coy’s wheels, so I figured I would throw that into the mix as well. That takes care of the Grey.

For the interior, I would like to use a 2-tone Brown, for the 2 dots on his eyebrows, but I’m afraid that will clash with the grey wheels. What do ya’ll think? If not Brown, then I will use a 2-tone Grey. The white will be taken care of with some white-faced gauges in the dash.

That left us with this...

So have ya’ll figured out that I really am Nuts yet?

Oh Yeah, for those that missed it in Oscar's thread, this will be proudly displayed on the back.

Steven, IMHO I don't think that it will matter what color interior that you use. Just about anything goes with black. Maybe a light brown w/darker brown inserts on the seats? The truck in the pic is nothing short of awesome. It's your truck dawg, I think that you should run with whatever theme you have in mind!

I think the two tone brown would look sweet. I like the way you are building the truck with a meaning behind what you choose to do to it.

Don't worry Eric, I will have some taller tires on there. That was a picture that I found that all I had to do was change the wheels. It's not my best work, but it was a quick and easy photochop to show Brandi what it would look like.

Wynne, as long as Brandi keeps letting me dump money into it, I hope it will be done by CTC next year. Maybe not in final paint, but hopefully REAL close to it.

Keith, If it weren't for the meaning, I would just sell it and start on the Blazer. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. I'm still seriously considering that camaro front clip.

As far as the brown interior that will be the last thing I do to it, so I will have plenty of time to figure that out. Brandi also said that if I switch to a wood floor in the bed that it would take care of the brown. I guess we'll just have to see!
