I don't think I've seen it with the fleet bed on it. Glad to see you getting back on it.

Hide the women and children! Something bad is about to happen... I actually made progress this weekend!

After reading Puropedo's build thread on the 67-72 board (http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/show ... 405&page=5), I figured what the hell, I can Z the rear of my frame just like he did. So after leveling and bracing the frame before and after the cut and measuring a hundred and twenty seven times, I cut it. I have it all lined back up and tacked together to hold it where I put it. Hopefully with a few nights after work, I can get all of the filler pieces cut out and burned in, so that I can get around to making the junction of the camaro subframe and truck frame look a little better.

:2thumbs Sweet bro! All you need are another set of bags and it will DEFINATELY lay frame now!

Glad to see you working on it. I cant wait till you get it done, I want to ride in it! I need to try to come over one day and help you out. You are still welcome to bring to the shop like we talked about, when you get ready to swap everything over. Or we can invade your dads for a weekend!

Funny you should mention laying frame, Keith. Before I started cutting, I removed the rear-end so it wouldn't get in the way, then pulled the front springs out of the Camaro subframe and let it drop as far as it would go. With the 26" tall tires that are on it right now (215/65-15) it doesn't lay the frame on the ground. It's about 1.5" from the ground. The tires that I am going to run on the front are probably going to be 28" tall (255/40-20), so that would raise it another inch, to be about 2.5 inches from the ground. Since they only make 2" drop spindles for 2nd gen Camaro's, that would put me 1/2" from the ground which is right where I want it aired out. It would lay frame if I used a smaller tire, but I would rather have a little bit of sidewall and not have anything touch the ground in case of a bag failure. And I'm not 100% sure I want it that low just yet. The rear won't let it lay all the way out either on my planned tire height of 29.3" (295/40-20). In Puropedo's thread on the 67-72 board he used a 315/35-20 which comes up to about 28.7" and still had to C-notch the frame to get it firmly planted.

Really, I would have thought it would dropped all the way down with the springs out. I wasnt thinking of tire size either. If you get the 1/2" clearance with the drop spindles and the tire size you are going with that would look killer!

Keep the pictures coming bro!

I still haven't finished up my rear Z, but since we got a Christmas bonus at work I decided I should order my wheels and tires. I called Coy's today and got a price for some 20" wheels and tires, and it was less than I was expecting, so I got all excited thinking that I was going to be able to order them after I got in from offshore and measured everything REAL good to make sure they fit right. I called Brandi because I was so excited that I was finally going to get some better wheels than those old white wagon wheels. She asked if I had ordered them because she "borrowed" a little bit for Christmas. They are going to close Wednesday at noon for the holidays, and I won't be able to replace the borrowed money until Thursday when I get paid. The best part is that since they are moving from Utah to Denver, CO over the holidays, they won't open again until Jan 4th. The guy told me that the front wheels which are the grey 20x8.5's are his most popular size and color and his next 2 shipments were already sold. He said the last time it got like this, it seemed like the next day or so it was a 9 month wait. So hopefully I can get them ordered as soon as they open up on the 4th before the wait puts me past my deadline for CTC.

Sorry, I just wanted to vent a little.
