South East La. Meet/Get together

Postby outlawc on Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:23 am

As usual, after a good meet we are wound up and ready to start planning the next one. This past weekend at Wynnes it was talked about that we should try our best to have more get togethers and attend as many shows as we can as a group. We havent had one over our way yet and Jeff (jokersbowtie) and I would like to host the next meet.

I know alot of members will have to travel a long way and will have to stay overnight at a hotel or bring their travel trailers. I want to get everyones input on what ya'll would like to do.

I would be honored to have everyone at my house. We are in Folsom which is 12 miles north of Covington,La. that has plenty of hotels. We have room for campers on our property and can hook you up to water, would just have to figure out electrical hookups for ya'll or there is a campground about 6 miles from my house. I am sure that it will be on a Saturday but everyone would be more than welcome to come for the whole weekend. If anyone wanted to come early we have a cruise night at different local drive ins every Friday of the month now if anyone wanted to catch one of those and then spend Saturday together also.

The other option thats been discussed before would be to have an extended meet at a state park or campground.

I was thinking of having it in August since that is halfway between now and CTC. I want to try to work the date so that everyone could make it since a few of our members work overseas and offshore.

Mike, you should be home the whole month of August right? What date do you have to go back? Eric, Steven, and any other offshore workers, whats your crew change schedule right now?

What do ya'll think? I am just throwing some stuff out there right now.

It sounds like fun to me. I'd like to do the Cruise Night Friday, whatever ya'll plan for Saturday and head home on Sunday. I'm open all month in August.

Great Keith, we would love to have you! We have something every week somewhere local. I thought we had one every friday but one is on a Saturday.

The first Friday is a cruise night at Badeauxs Drive in, in Madisonville, La. We have a good time at this one.

The second Saturday is a cruise night at the Hammond Square Mall, Hammond, La.

Third Friday is at the Jukebox Diner in Covington, La. This one is new and I havent been to it yet.

The Last Friday is a block party in Downtown Covington, La. Big turnout but ALOT of people. It gets REALLY packed and not everyone are there to look at the cars, they come to party, but its the biggest one we have.

Jeremy, you better be here!

LOL... Well I would love to bring the Suburban if it is road ready by then. It has a Rockwell 221 transfer case that has a bad leak and I do not know much about them. So if I can do something with it then I will drive it 4 sure. Your old rims are sanded, painted, and are on it now with AT 35's.

Those rockwells are known for their leaks. Make sure it stays full. I'm sure you know that! I took mine out and put in a 700 r4 np 208 combo, i love it but I still miss my 4 speed.

Yeah... I know what you mean. I have SM465's in both of my trucks and love them. Sorry if the thread is kind of getting off subject. :)

I'm in Keith. Hope that we can get everyone together in this one. I'm open all month, so it doesn't matter what date to me.
