Jeff came out today and we started on the headliner. We will be using this to make a mold from to make a standard covered headliner, a smooth painted one and a custom one peice headliner/overhead console version. At least thats our plan. We used a worn factory headliner board to get the contour of the cab roof. Checked it in my truck that is torn down and it fits real nice. Got to smooth out all the wrinkles and dimples and finish it to pull new ones from. For the custom paintable ones we will have to make another mold so the smooth gel coat will be facing down, it can be painted, airbrushed or whatever and be used in place of an factory upholstered liner.

Anyway heres what we did today.

Nice work! I wish that yall were closer, because I have one of those custom fiberglass overhead console type headliners here that you could get a mold from. The owner left it here 2 or 3 years ago after I painted his truck, and will probably never come back for it, but if I were to get rid of it, he would probably come asking about it the next day.

I think all of should move within 20 miles of each other!

Whats the headliner look like Wynne? Is it the one with the speakers in it? As we get time there are some other fiberglass peices we are going to try out also.

I can't remember the details, but it did have a CB in it originally. I think it was one of those dealer custom trucks, because it had the headliner, a custom seat, custom paint, and a few other mods. I don't remember any speakers in it though. I'll try to get you a pic.

Here's the pic. The square areas on each side (where the holes are) had a square board covered with velour.

Yeah, it came out real nice. Adding the headliner and trim really changed the inside of Jeffs truck.

Jeff, how did your head feel by the time you got home, did you have a glue buzz?
