That's great Eric. You are going to love it. If I were you I would consider finding all the correct brackets and pulleys or at least go aftermarket so you can put a short water pump on it and get that AC compressor onto the passenger side. Some guys use late model serpentine drives but you have to use electric fans because it also uses a long water pump and there is no room. If you don't mind this talk to Keith (victoryauto). That's what he did.

Hey it has the short water pump on it already.......The only thing i am not getting with it is the power steering pump, it was set up for hydra boost breaks and the pump and hoses all fit so he wanted to keep that........so i am all excided.....now its the hunt for the big block motor towers

Eric. the one in the pictures has a long water pump, the alternator is on the passenger side.

Eric, I double checked the pics, it is a long pump. The short pump is right against the timing cover. It appears to have all the correct brackets for a 73 up big block.

Even the long pump bracket setup is worth some change these days, so I'm sure you could sell it and get some of the money for a short pump setup. Matter of fact I think Hartrod is trying to sell some. (If you're not broke yet, lol)

I didn't have time to read all the post but one solution to the mount problem is to use 73 up stands and clam shells. Hope this is not a repeat.

Yep I had a 67 with those on it. Victoryauto has it now. On it the frame had been notched to make them work, but it would be a cheaper solution.

You can use engine stands and mounts from a '73 & up v-8 truck, and they look very close to a '72 big block engine stand, but you may have to do some small mods to make them work.

I have a set of V8 mounts off the 83 GMC I have. You can have them if you can make them work.

What about just fabbing up a set of street rod style solid mounts? A set like that would not cost more than $20.00 in materials to make.
